Week 25, 2023
In homage to this week’s sparkling new dark mode, these release notes will exclusively use screenshots in dark mode to illustrate our other new capabilities. Enjoy!
Yes, you guessed it. Oort’s much anticipated dark theme is now available throughout the dashboard. For those of you that want to avoid bright white screens, dark mode is a great option and is rumored to even save your battery life. For many people, the charts and graphs will also “pop” more in dark mode.
Don’t worry, we’re not forcing anything on you. You can toggle between Light and Dark Mode in the top right corner at any stage.
Information on Azure licenses can already be found in User profiles under the Azure AD card. While this can be helpful context when investigating a user, many of you have expressed any interest in searching across the entire user population for users with different licenses.

As with any of the advanced filtering, you can combine this with other parameters. For example, you may want to also look for inactive accounts with premium licenses. By performing these searches, it’s easy to remove the license and start saving some costs!
Within the main dashboard, one of the most popular components is the map view which shows last sign-in attempts over the last 30 days. This is particularly useful if you notice logins coming from unexpected countries where you have no operations or employees.
In this release, we’ve made it possible to pivot through to the Users page with the appropriate filters applied (Advanced Query Mode for the win). In the example below, I have clicked through to view the users who have attempted to sign in from the Philippines.
Two weeks ago, we released a new check to detect compromised sessions. In this release, we’ve provided more content on the associated session(s), including information on the devices used and the applications targeted.
As always, to view this explainability, simply click on the row with the check listed within the User 360 profiles and a sidebar will appear.
- Disabled Check. Checks that have been disabled will now appear last within the list of Checks.
- Compliance Trendline. To ensure we’re only presenting the most important information to you, we have removed the compliance trendline from the Checks pages.
